Terms and Conditions of Service

Last Updated: 02/04/2026

Welcome to Northline Electric. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all electrical services, repairs, and installations provided by Northline Electric (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to residential and commercial clients within Snohomish County, King County, and the Greater Seattle area.

By scheduling service or signing a work order, the Customer (“you”) agrees to be bound by the following:

1. Scope of Work

Detailed Description: We will perform the services specifically outlined in your written estimate or digital work order. Any additional work requested outside this scope will be treated as a “Change Order” and billed accordingly.

Estimates vs. Final Cost: Estimates are based on a visual inspection of the accessible areas. If we encounter unforeseen obstacles (e.g., hazardous wiring hidden in walls, structural issues, or code violations), the final price may be adjusted with your prior approval.

2. Payment Terms

Residential Clients: Payment is due in full immediately upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Commercial Clients: Invoices are due within 15 days of the invoice date.

Deposits: A deposit of 25% may be required for projects exceeding $4000 or for specialized materials (e.g., generators, EV chargers).

Late Fees: Past-due balances are subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month (18% per annum) or the maximum rate allowed by Washington law.

3. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Notice Required: Please provide at least 24–48 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule.

Cancellation Fee: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a “Trip Charge” or a flat fee of $140 to cover lost scheduling time.

4. Access and Site Conditions

Access: The Customer must ensure that our technicians have clear access to the electrical panel, work areas, and any necessary utility rooms.

Safety: The work site must be free of hazards, including unrestrained pets or unsafe structural conditions. We reserve the right to refuse service if the environment is deemed unsafe.

5. Permits and Inspections

Compliance: Northline Electric will pull all necessary electrical permits as required by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) or local municipal jurisdictions (e.g., City of Everett or Seattle).

Cooperation: The Customer agrees to provide access for city/state inspectors to sign off on the work. Final payment is not contingent upon inspection timing if the delay is caused by the municipality.

6. Hidden Conditions & Code Violations

Existing Systems: When working on older properties (common in Everett and Seattle), we may discover pre-existing code violations or hazardous “legacy” wiring (e.g., knob-and-tube or ungrounded systems).

Requirement to Fix: Per Washington State law, our technicians cannot knowingly leave a life-safety hazard active. We will notify you immediately of any such findings and provide an estimate for the necessary repairs.

7. Limited Warranty

Workmanship: We provide a 1-year workmanship warranty from the date of completion. This covers defects in our labor.

Materials: Manufacturer warranties apply to all parts and equipment (e.g., EV chargers, panels, lighting). Northline Electric does not warrant parts manufactured by third parties.

Exclusions: This warranty is void if the electrical system is modified by another party or damaged by “acts of God” (lightning, flooding, etc.).

8. Limitation of Liability

Northline Electric is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the total amount paid by the Customer for the specific service in question.

We are not responsible for minor cosmetic damage (e.g., small holes in drywall, paint chips) necessitated by the installation of wiring in finished walls, unless explicitly stated in the scope of work.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Snohomish County or King County, depending on the location of the service.
